How effective is the Chopper Gun method?
In August 2013, Sundance Pools acquired a Chopper Gun and received assistance from a supplier-provided expert operator to produce several fiberglass shells. However, we found the final results unsatisfactory and had to manually apply additional layers of hand-laminated fiberglass to meet Sundance Pools' renowned quality standards. Concerns arose regarding the inconsistent thickness and overall lack of shell thickness in the finished products.
Our Concerns
Since acquiring the chopper gun in August 2013, it has remained idle in our factory because we refuse to adopt this "modern technology" until we can ensure it meets our exacting quality standards. Some competitors argue that hand lamination is a method used only by companies unwilling or unable to invest in chopper gun technology. Contrary to this perception, we possess the equipment but choose not to use it due to its inability to consistently achieve the quality our brand is renowned for.
The primary advantage of the chopper gun lies in its ability to reduce material usage by creating thinner shells. This translates to lower material costs and reduced labor requirements, resulting in a more affordable product for clients upfront. However, we believe that while cost-effectiveness is appealing initially, it may compromise long-term durability and client satisfaction. Our commitment to our clients extends beyond delivering a quick and inexpensive product; we prioritize enduring quality that withstands the test of time.
So, why do we continue to refrain from using this technology? Quite simply, our unwavering goal is to deliver only the finest, highest-quality products to our valued customers.
